Abstract

Microbial analysis of rhizosphere soil of meadow guava (Psiclium guajava L.) orchards, given different mulching treatments showed highest fungal and bacterial counts in banana leaf mulch treatment. Black polyethylene mulch had second highest bacterial load but least fungal load after control. The type of microflora varied among different treatments. Highest yield was obtained from plants given banana leaf mulch treatment.
