Abstract

Despite considerable progress in determining the requirements of the mammalian embryo, the multi-step process of
in vitro embryo production remains significantly inferior to the complex and dynamic environment found in vivo.
Attempts are being made for further improvement of methods for in vitro production of embryos. In vitro production of
embryos has been made possible by improvements in oocyte collection, maturation, fertilization and early embryo
culture systems. In vitro cell culture technique is still not very efficient due to several limiting factors affecting the
outcome of the results. In the present review the practical approaches for the improvement of in vitro embryo production
will be discussed.
