Abstract

Sugarcane is generally grown as a sole crop but due to its wider row spacing (90–120 cm) and long-duration nature, there are immense opportunities for intercropping with pulses, oilseeds, vegetable crops, medicinal and aromatic crops. Growing intercrops in between sugarcane rows can provide effective weed control for increasing productivity of sugarcane but still, there is a need to
develop best strategies for controlling weeds for sustainable production of sugarcane.
