Abstract

Insects and nematodes are major biotic constraints affecting potato yields and tuber quality. On average, potato crops globally face losses of 16% due to insect pests while reductions in tuber yield and quality can be between 30% to 70% for various insect pests. In seed production, aphids, whiteflies and potato cyst nematodes are the most concerning pests.
