Abstract

Beekeeping has evolved into a dynamic sector integrating smart technologies, sustainable practices, and economic opportunities, significantly benefiting Indian farmers by improving crop yields, enhancing rural livelihoods, and promoting eco-friendly agricultural practices. Internet of things, artificial intelligence and genetic advancements enhance hive management, disease prevention, and honey production, supporting both commercial and rural beekeepers. Bee-derived products, including honey, propolis, and royal jelly play a crucial role in healthcare, nutrition, and cosmetics. The article provides information on sustainable beekeeping practices, benefits and challenges as well as government initiatives.
