Spot blotch (Bipolaris sorokiniana): A threatening disease of wheat

Abstract
There are several diseases which cause substantial reduction in yield as well as deterioration in quality of wheat grains, among which spot blotch caused by Bipolaris sorokiniana is assuming importance causing up to 36% loss. In India, the disease occurs in Bihar, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh and Orissa. Of late it has also made its appearance in the north-western region of Indo-Gangetic plains.Downloads
