Raab- The traditional agricultural practice in Dang district of Gujarat

Abstract
The traditional system of slash and burn in agriculture is calledraab and is still being followed by the local communities of Dang
district in Gujarat. Alongwith raab, agroforestry is also practiced in this region when naturally growing trees are maintained in different densities, within and around the raab fields. With the amount of biomass burnt, every chunk of land within the raab fields becomes the nursery bed after 5-7 years.
