Successful cultivation of Guinea grass in arid region of Rajasthan
157 / 102
Abstract
Guinea grass can be successfully cultivated in arid region of western Rajasthan, where sufficient irrigation water is available throughout the year through the canal system or tube well. For its cultivation, growing of plants in nursery is necessary. Direct sowing of seeds in field may not give sufficient number of plants. Guinea grass is important fodder grass for giving green fodder round the year. It is a perennial grass and after establishment, it continues to give green fodder year after year without resowing or replanting. More than five cuttings can be taken from it in one year.Downloads
