Abstract

Frost is formed when the dew point of the air falls below the freezing point and it is one of the major limiting factors in crop production especially in case of high value crops like fruits and vegetables. Since, we have no control over nature and we cannot stop frost formation. Hence, it is very important that measures should be adopted to minimize the ill effect of frost. The direct and indirect methods are effective tools to protect crops from frost and chilling injuries. It is an attempt to educate the farmers about more and more proved methods, which they can adopt to protect their valuable crops from frost damage. The proper adoption of any of the above mentioned methods can protect highly returning enterprises from frost damage. In addition to this, it is advised that farmers should take proper advice and technical knowledge time to time from concerned scientists and subject matter specialists for proper utilization of resources and to avoid the ill effect of weather on their crops.
