Abstract

After harvesting of paddy, farmers prefer to burn it for its quick disposal to avoid delay in sowing of wheat. Burning of paddy straw has number of harmful effects, the major one being loss of nutrients in it. Tillage is also one major operation at the time of wheat sowing which is one of the contributor towards cost of wheat crop production. The Happy Seeder developed at PAU can be introduced as an alternate option for straw management.
