Abstract

Varieties play a major role in increasing sugarcane and sugar
production on large scale. Several high yielding and high sugar varieties have been released and notified in tropical India. The impact of such varieties specially Co 86032 and CoC 671 is easily recognized and accepted. The importance of such varieties is discussed in the ensuing paper.
