Abstract

Growing disease resistant varieties is the mainstay in disease
management in sugarcane and therefore, red rot and smut diseases
were managed successfully by growing resistant varieties. All the
diseases, however, cannot be managed in a similar manner and
there is need to adopt novel strategies.
