Abstract

Cotton a major crop in southwestern Punjab is prone to different
types of insect-pests, but after the introduction of Bt cotton in India the insect causing minor damage has emerged as major pest of cotton. White fly a sucking pest that caused serious destruction to cotton in year 2015-16 was successfully managed in the year 2016-17 with the continuous and strenuous efforts carried by scientists of PAU, KVK and Agriculture department. The farmers were made aware through campaigns and training camps about weed
management, observing ETL level, use of recommended insecticides and avoiding the use of pesticide mixture. The integrated approach by these drives had given fruitful results.
