Abstract

The scientists of ICAR-Central Potato Research Institute, Shimla, developed an aeroponics system for cultivation of potato with precision in nutrient supply under controlled conditions. This is an efficient system to investigate potato growth and development, in particular, underground plant parts like roots, stolons and tubers while monitoring nutrient uptake, utilization and remobilization efficiency. Nitrogen is the most limiting factor for potato growth. This method improved N use efficiency of potato plant.
