Abstract

Orchids with their bewildering range of flowers in terms of exquisite colour combinations provide a source of profound aesthetic pleasure. They are primarily grown for cut flowers or as potted plant and are multi million dollar industries in many countries. In addition, a few terrestrial orchid species, of which whole plants are attractive enough and can be directly used in landscape gardening.
They exhibit unparallel range of diversity in colour, shape, size and long lasting flower life. They are exceptional and exotic addition to gardening.
