Thar Neelkanth: a new bael variety

Abstract
Thar Neelkanth has vigorous and lustrous growth with dense canopy. It is drought hardy and prolific-bearer variety. It starts bearing in third year and ripening after 320 days of fruit setting with an average yield of 75.67 kg/tree during eighth year under rained hot semi-arid conditions. Fruits are rich in fine fibres (4.88%), with thin rind (1.8mm), high pulp content (71.30%) and with less acidity (0.29%), less number of seeds (83.21) and mucilage and high in TSS of pulp (41.20 0 brix) and mucilage (52.50 0 brix), and pulp TSS and acidity ratio (142.07). It is highly suitable to grow under fragile agroclimatic conditions.Downloads
