Ovaries collected from dead female camels of Bikaner and surrounding areas during the breeding season were used for oocyte collection. From the left ovary 43 follicles were collected compared to 19 follicles from right ovary. On the ovarian surface 28 of the 62 follicles were having either blood clots ot haemorrhagic margins. Follicles were well projecting on the ovarian surface and their overall mean diameter was 9.63±3.50 mm. 36/56 recovered oocytes were not having any cumulus mass attached to it. Amongst the 3 methods used for oocyte collection, aspiration was most efficient (32 oocytes yielded from 8 ovaries) compared to follicle dissection ( 14 oocytes from 6 ovaries) or slicing ( 10 oocytes from 7 ovaries). Slicing was considered to be non-suitable for collection of camel oocytes because of the presence of haemorrhagic follicles.
