Abstract

Observations on the morphometry of heart of non-descript breed of indigenous deer are presented. The heart on anaverage weighed 147.50 ± 17.619 g. The crania-caudal borders length ratio was 10 : 8. The circumference at coronary groove was 21.00 ± 1.225 cm. The right and left longitudinal grooves anastomosed with each other 2.32 ± 0.269 cm above the apex of the heart on the right side. The right and left walls and inter-ventricular septum were thickest (6.58, 14.33 and 14.33 mm) in the middle and thinnest (4.92, 6.58 and 8.50 mm) at lower third of the ventricles. The right oscordis was completely ossified while len remained cartilagenous.
