The study was conducted on 10 Jamunapari young male goats (6-9 months age) to explore the structure and extent of Reissner's fibre. The Reissner's fibre was present on ependyma of subcommissual organ and cerebral aqueduct which was constituted of cilia, microvilli, glycocalyx along with heterogeneous material. Scanning electron-microscopy showed filaments starting from ependymal cells along with RBC and other cell debris arranged to form a cord like Reissner's fibre. The transmission electron, microscopy of Reissner's fibre displayed different shaped irregular structures free from the ventricular surface of ependymal cells. The floccular cytoplasm of Reissner's fibre contained smooth and rough endoplasmic reticulum and occasional Golgi complex. However, the presence of electron dense bodies. osmiophilic round electron dense bodies and osmiophilic bodies with electron dense irregular deposits inside the body were regular features.
