Enhancement of antibody production by electro-acupuncture in goats immunized with Salmonella typhimurium

Abstract
The combind electroacupuncture stimulation atacupoints St-36, SP-6,LI-4, GV-14 in gOats (group A and GB-39, SP-10, LI·II and Liv-3 (group B) caused a significant increase in antibody titre from 1:7.5 (control) to 1:22.5 and 1:20, respectively, against Salmonella 'O' antigen at day 5 post-inoculation. The antihody titre gradually increased, respectively, to 1 :1440 and 1 :1120 at day 14 against 1:320 of controls. Thereafler it declined to 1 :120,1:90 and 1 :15, respectively, by day 30. There was no significant difference in antihody titre between two groups of acupuncture-stimulated animals.Downloads
