Clinico-physioiogical effects of electroacupuncture anaesthesia of limbs in dogs

Abstract
Electro stumulatlon of combmation of acupomts GV-20, ST-40, BL-60, GB-40, LI-4 and SP-4 produced complete desenzation of hip Joint,lateral aspect of hip, thigh, stifle Joint and proximal part of leg of pelvic limb and a combmation of acupoints GV-20, LU-10, TH-5, P-6, LI-11 and Tianpmg produced complete desensitiZation of shoulder girdle, elbow Joint and arm of thoracic limb The onset of anaesthesia occurred in 20 05±0 45 mm and recovery occurred In 12 72±0.22 min after termmation of electroacupuncture Electroacupuncture caused a signficant icrease in heart rate, nonsignificant increase in respiration and rectal temperature up 10 60 mm. There was no slgnificant effect on mean arterial blood pressure, electro cardiogram and acid-base slatus in any of the groups of animals after electroacupuncture.Downloads
