Abstract
Data on mortality up to 3 months of age in Hariana halfbred and 4 second generation groups were analysed using a new approach based on cell probability log.it model, developed here, analogous to the cell means model technique for continuous data. The second generation Hariana crossbreds of 50% Jersey and 25% Friesian inheritance (1/2 J x 1/4 F x 1/4 H) were the most survivable over all the other genetic groups in general and 1/2 F x 1/2 H, 1/2 J x 1/2 H, 1/2 F x 1/4 B x 1/4 H and 1/2F x 1/4 J x 1/4 H in particular.
