Abstract

A0nti-cattle serum and anti-buffalo serum were raised in rabbits against the normal sera of cattle and buffalo respectively. To develop monospecific antisera, the rabbit anti-cattle sera (RACS) and rabbit anti-butfalo sera (RABS) were' absorbed with freeze-dried sera of goat (GFD). cattle (CFD) and buffalo (BFD). The RACS absorbed with BFD. RABS absorbed with CFD, RABS absorbed with CFD. plus GFD were monospecific and gave positive reaction to the respective homologus antigen only. RA8S absorbed with GFD gave species-specific reaction to meat extracts of both cattle and buffalo. The monospecifie RACS and RABS could delect ->25% otthe homologous meat component in the binary mixtures. Development of monospecific anti-buffalo sera is mOre promising.
