Abstract

Studies were undertaken to compare a computer programme (Neway) and graphical method (fitting a curve by eye) for
calculation of degradation characteristics and effective degradability of crude protein. organic matter and dry matter in 7
forage crops. There was no significant difference in the elTective degradability values and degradation characteristics except
for b values (insoluble but potentially degradable fraction) of dry matter and organic matter.
