The islets of Langerhans in duck pancreas were more abundant in dorsal than in ven1ral lobe and were the main component of splcnic lobe. Two types of islets, alpha (dark) and P (light) were observed, The islets were largest in splenic lobe, intermediate ones in ventral lobe and smallest in dorsal lobe. The a islets were larger than P islets. In addition to beta p and 0 cells a fourth type of cell assumed to be endocrine in nature was observed only in a islcts and exocrine tissue.Downloads
