Abstract

Premedication with oral clonidine (16 ug/kg body weight) in thiopentone sodium anaesthetized rabbits resulted in shivering-free prolonged anaesthesia (9-13 min) with excellent muscle relaxation. With c10nidine premedication anaesthetic dose of thiopentone sodium was reduced by 19.19%.
