Abstract

Leaves of 12 trees were analysed and its preliminary study sugest that (i) the tree leaves of Trema orientaUs, Bauhinia variegata and Bhuhinia vahlii contain rich source ofprotein, (ii) the leaves of Cinnamomum tama/a, Bauhinia vahlii and Macaranga peltata contain rich source of enery, (iii) the leaves of Trema, orientaUs, Bauhinia variegata and Hevea brasiliensis contain rich source of calcium but phosphorus ofmo:!! ofthe tree leaves was low resulting in wide calcium phosphorus (Ca:P) ratio.
