Abstract

The mediastintum testis of dog was axially located and extended three fourths. the length of testis, and continued as the extra testicular part and consisted of 3 divisions. The mediastinum testis consisted of tubular and intertubular components. The intertubular components of the mediastinum consisted of-dense fibrous tissue with a few elastic and smooth muscle cells. Collection of interstitial cells was constantly observed in the form of cell cords. The rete testis consisted of an intratesticular and extratesticular parts. The intratesticular part was in the form of irregular anastomosing wide channels located in mediastinum testis as well as in the connective tissue septa lined by simple cuboidal to low columnar epithelium with stratified appearance at places. The intratesticular part penetrated the caputa extremity of the testis and continued as the extratesticular part of the rete testis and consisted of 3 portions.
