Experiments were conducted on New Hampshire males to determine the effects of holding temperature and time onabnormalities of acrosomal and cap sperm head. At 5 and 15°C, the per cent acrosomal cap abnormalities and abnormal
sperm head were lower than that of 25 and 41°C. But no significant difference was observed between 5 and 15°C. The
most efficient holding temperature was 5°C,!Acrosomal abnormalities were storage time dependent and increased with
the increase in time of storage. These traits of chicken semen stored at 5°C for 3 and 6hr were significantly lower than that
of 18 and 24hr. Both of these traits did not differ significantly at 5°C storage for 3 and 6hr, though remained lowest after
3hr or storage at 5°C.
