The BLUP model is being used in animal breeding to evaluate genetic merit of sires for a variety of traits. But it is costly in nature of constructing and solving mixed-model equations. Some of the practical aspects connected with multitrait BLUP models, viz. optimum progeny group size, effect of imprecise estimates of correlation's on prediction error variance, ranking of sires and effect of non-orthogonality were examined.Downloads
