An increase in vascular permeability induced by the intradermal inoculation of bacterial suspensions in the chicken was assessed quantitatively and microscopically. Using Streptococcus pyogenes and Escherichia coli a triphasic pattern of permeability was observed. This is in marked contrast to the biphasic response obtained hitherto with non-biological agents.Downloads
