Frozen semen samples of 12 crossbred cattle (Karan Fries) bulls with varying conception rates were taken and after appropriate thawing and washing in modified sperm T ALP medium, they were treated with 200 mM platelet activating factor (PAF) for 15 min at 38°C and 5% Coz leyel. Comparison was made with controls (not PAF treated) for motility, acrosome reaction (AR), live count (LC), head (HD-ABN), mid piece (MP-ABN), tail (TL-ABN) and total (TTL-ABN) abnormalities. PAF caused increase in AR, HD-ABN, TL-ABN, TTL-ABN, decrease in motility, LC, whereas, it did not affect MP-ABN. The paired t-test revealed that effect of PAF on all the parameters except MP-ABN was significant.Downloads
