Follicular dynamism in the ovary of pregnant Indian buffalo

The follicular dynamism was studied in buffalo ovary. The developing and atretic follicles were present in the pregnant buffalo ovary. The tertiary follicles could not be located. The mean diameter of primordial and primary follicles was 23.51±1.15 and 23.26±1.16 J.Lm respectively. Zona pellucida was first seen in the primary follicle. The average size of the secondary follicle was 81.77±6.23 J.Lm. The corpus luteum ofpregnancy was protruded on the surface with major part embedded within the ovarian tissue.
