BRENDEX: A computer programme for estimation of general and restricted selection indices for genetic gains

Brendex, a computer programme was developed in Fortran-77 for construction of general and restricted selection indices for genetic gains in livestock species. This programme can utilize infonnation on 10 traits at a time. The programme is free and can be downloaded from ftp: //cirg.res.in/pub/skstat/brendex. The programme runs in Dos and Windows operating system but it can be easily transported to any ofthe operating systems. The source code follows GPL licence (www.gnu.org) which allows users to use to modify it and distribute it freely.
