Abstract

Crossbred cattle (Holstein Friesian x Sahiwal, n=18) were superovulated with single or multiple injections of FSH-E and FSH-p. Supcrovulatory response did not vary significantly between FSH-E and FSH-P either in single or in multiple injection schedules. The large anovulatory follicle on the day of flushing also did not vary significantly between the groups but increased rate of superovulatory response and reduction in large anovulatory follicles was found while using multiple injection schedule of FSH-P. The mean recovery of embryo in group 1-A, group 1-B, group 2-A and group 2-A and group 2-8 was 5.8± 1.51, 4.75±1.19, 3.0± 1. 79 and 5.0±2.03, respectively, difference in recovery rate were nonsignificant. Animals injected with FSH-E through single injection (group 1-A) or FSH-P through multiple injections (group 2-B) had better embryo recovery rates.
