Detection of Paramphistomum epiclitum infection in sheep by dot ELISA

In an attempt to detect Paramphistomum epic/Uuln infection in sheep, dot- ELISA was attempted using immature whole fluke antigen. In a total of 285 sera samples of sheep collected, for diagnosis ofparamphistomosis with dot- ELISA. 140 were from Andhra Pradesh, 55 from Tamil Nadu and 45 each from Karnataka and Kerala. These when tested showed a~ overall infection rate of 8.42% with 7.85, 10.9,6.66 and 8.88% of samples from Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, K'arnataka and Kerala, respectively.
