Comparative histological study on the prostate gland in uncastrated and castrated cattle

The present investigation revealed that the prostate in uncastrated cattle was covered by thick fibrous capsule composed of coarse collagen and few elastic and smooth muscle fibres. The mucous alveoli were lined by tall columnar epithelium. The. maximum diameter of the serous alveoli was ranged from 32 to 88 /1. In the castrated cattle the glandular alveoli were lined with cuboidal epithelium.
