Abstract

Crossbred buffalo calves (6), below 1 year of age, were ted lead acetate (@ 25 mgt kg body weight orally for 7 days. All calves died ailer showing symptoms oflead toxicity. The tissues ii'om kidney were collected and stored in liquid nitrogen. Cryostat sections of 10 ~m thickness were obtaineci and incubated for dchydrogenases. The study revealed a drastic loss of SDH and LDB activity in the tubular epithelium and. giomeruli.
