Genetic and economic responses to selection indices incorporating lactation disorder traits like mastitis, metritis and abnormal calving along with production and reproduction traits, were studied in Murrah buffaloes. Our results revealed that more emphasis should be laid on inclusion of lactation disorder traits in selection indices as it improves overall economic traits of buffaloes.
