The study was conducted on 38 buffalo foetuses and 18 postnatal buffalo calves. The differentiation of reticular fibres was first observed at 63 lum CRL (57 days) in thymus. At 367 mm CRL (156 days) fine network of fibres surrounded the major blood vessels of the interlobular septa. At 750 mm CRL (243 days) these fibres formed double layered sheath around the blood vessels of interlobular septa. In postnatal calves maximum number of fibres were noted between 1 week to 3 months, thereafter reticular fibres reduced gradually. At 2 years their number was scarce and at 5 years reticular fibers were completely absent in thymus.
