Abstract

Monomolecular Gompertz and logistic growth functions taken as increasing term of an egg production model were combined with linear with and without intercept and curvilinear term to generate egg production model of laying hens. All these models were fitted to average 4-weekly egg production records from 20th to 72nd week of age of Frizzle fowl, an Indian native chicken and were compared for goodness-of-fit. The models obtained with curvilinear term performed better than the corresponding models with linear term to describe the egg production curve. The logistic curvilinear model was found best to describe annual egg production curce of Frizzle fowL
