An experiment was conducted to find out the effect of amelioration of thermal stress on growth performance of Large White Yorkshire pigs. Weaned piglets (24) were divided equally into 4 treatlnent groups. First group was maintained without any thermal stress arneliorati ve measure as control, the second group with water spray facility, the third group with wallows~ and the fourth group was provided with mud wallows. An10ng the pigs given thermal stress amelioration treatment, highly significant difference in growth rate was observed froln 84 days of age onwards with the mud wallowing group always recording faster growth rate to finish at 73.67±O.44 kg at 180 days of age, which was significantly higher than the rest of the groups. The feed conversion ratio varied significantly with mud wallowing group recording the best ratio of 3.56±O.17.
