The study included the adrenal glands of 9 buffalo foetuses ranging from 100 mm to 890 mm crown-rump length. The activity for succinic dehydrogenase, lactic dehydrogenase, n1alic dehydrogenase and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase was negative to weak in the capsule, stroma and capillaries, moderate to strong in the foetal and definite cortex and highly varied, Le. weak to strong in the medulla. The reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide diaphorase and reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate diaphorase activity was weak to strong in the capsule, weak in stroma and capillaries, intense in the definite cortex, strong to intense in the foetal cOl1ex and moderate in both the zones of the medulla. The cytochrome oxidase showed a negati ve to \veak activity in the capsule, stroma, capillaries and medulla and moderate activity in the definite and foetal cortex.
