The present study was carried out to study the variations in biological behaviours of susceptible and resistant strains of Haelnonchus contortus. Sheep (24) aged 2 years were divided into 4 groups, viz. G1(negative control), G2 (infected orally with 10 000 L3 of H. contortus susceptible strain), G3 (10 1000 L3 orally) of H. contortus resistant strain), and 04 (infected by grazing, Le. mixed infection). Body weight of sheep of infected groups was significantly different but not anlong infected groups. Significantly higher wonn counts of adult H. contof1us at 49 DPI were recorded in G2 and G4 sheep. Higher fecundity was observed in resistant strain of the parasite as compared to the susceptible one, which may have epidemiological implications.
