Abstract

Analysis of data of 480 kiddings in Sirohi, Marwari and Kutchi breeds revealed that does of less than 2 years of age had significantly lower gestation length. The does with higher litter weight had significantly higher gestation length. The difference in gestation length due to parity and sex of kid was negligible however in single kidding, it was significantly higher than twin births. The analysis of variance revealed that the effect of breed, dams’ age, type of birth, sex of kid and litter weight on gestation length was significant.
