Abstract

Mithuns survive on natural fodders, viz. tree leaves, herbs, shrubs, grasses and creepers. Samples of 20 different fodders were collected and analyzed for proximate chemical composition. Tree leaves, viz. Ficus hirta, F. glomerata, Bauhinia sp., Sauruia roxberghii; herbes Dendrocalamus hamiltonii, and creeper Enthada porseatha showed good nutritive value.
