Histomorphological study was conducted on development of gut associated lymphoid tissue (GALT) in the small intestine of 10 buffalo foetii age ranging between 10cm88 em. The study revealed that the histogenesis of peyer's patches initiated at 159 days offoetal age. Initially the peyer's patches consisted ofdifferent stages ofmaturing lymphocytes which were closely aggregated mainly in the propria submucosa and later in tunica submucosa of ileum. At 198 days well-organised oval shaped peyer's patches were observed in the tunica submucosa of ileum, but the comparatmentalization ofpeyer's patches into different zones was still not evident up to this age.
