Monthly milk yield records (5000) from 500 lactations of 164 swamp buffaloes maintained at Livestock Research Station, AAU, Mondira, were collected to study the monthly milk yield from 1st to 10th month in all the 5 lactations. The average monthly milk yields in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th month were 45.76±0.56, 57.94±O.62, 65.80±O.69, 64.54±O. 70, 62.21±O.64, 59.62±O.62, 54.72±O.57, 48.31±O.45, 34.96±O.39 and 23.87±O.31 kg respectively. Lactation order had significant effect on monthly milk yield and reached peak in fourth lactation, which declined thereafter. Trend in monthly milk yield revealed a steady increase from first to third month and then declined gradually till the 10th month. Most probable producing ability (MPPA) and breeding efficiency were 499.76±9.00 kg and 71.32±O.58% respectively.
