Ontogenic study of thymus of indigenous and crossbred pigs during postnatal life (0-30 days)

In the present study indigenous and crossbred pigs (30) of different age groups were utilized. The thymus comprised 3 lobes, viz cranial, cervical and thoracic. The thoracic lobe was oval in crossbreds and heart shaped in indigenous. The quantitative parameters showed higher averages in the lett side than that in the right. Highly significant differences (P<0.01) were observed among age groups in respect to length, width, thickness, volume, organ weight and relative weight.Downloads
