Abstract

The lac insect culture has been placed on a strong scientific footing, enabled with authentic characterizations from the NAIP Component 4 and its initiative through the Basic and Strategic Research thus placing the lac production industry and its commercialization on a scientific footing. The lac insect commercial lines are now known wholesomely with all that attributes scientifically generated and documented. The product profiles are now enhanced quantitatively and qualitatively linked by way of innovations achieved. It is hoped that the lac industry in the coming few decades will definitely take advantage of these innovations.
